Donna

I never realized that one of my friends from college would pass away so easily. Meet Donna, one of the persons I found interesting. I never quite fully understood her though but I did get the picture years back on sophomore Year College.

Don’t know why but I belonged to a group of the Chinese blooded. I guess we had click for some reasons. I mean their families are rich, I am not; they belong to some well-known titles in the city, where I came from the proud city of the Ormoc and they can speak chinese, whereas my father side does has Chinese blood but we don’t speak any language of some sort. Anyhow we just had this mutual understanding when it comes to making friends, we respects each other’s opinions and get along pretty well. Although at that time they didn’t quite hang around the night, but we were not a bad group either.

How can I describe Donna? We were not that super close but we stayed in touch years after she left the college…

With the gang L-R( Carmi, Donna, me, Ivane, Dan, Lara, Ken) way back early days celebrating Carmi's birthday on some ice cream (sorry for the crappy picture)

One thing, she was a generous person materialistically and yes she’s one of the friends you can talk to. She’s a person having sensible conversations. Downside was she was already sick when I met her. I presumed because of her sickness, she was kinda lazy. I respected her for all of that. There were some points about her I don’t get.

For once, she somehow hated her parents for doing the stuff for her. She is like all hate about them, but all I can see was that she should be thankful for having them, one of the nicest parents I ever met. Although she was quite emotional when it comes to her love life, I never understood why she was rushing to fall in love. Getting attached to mostly on the same sex. I know I’m being too judgmental about it but her partners were to me doesn’t suit her. If I have vices, well she was the first one who had them. She didn’t influence me though; I was just a witnessed to her actions of rebellion. That
was what I thought

Until I realized it why she was rushing things. I never quite saw it clearly.

The last time I saw her was at her wake, such a shame never did the chance to visit on the hospital

I guess when you know that you have a time limit in this life, doesn’t matter to whom you share it with as long you can experience it. I salute her for that, instead of waiting for life to end  she took actions. She wants to be in charge of what is for her. Maybe we saw it as ill acts but I can't blame her for it.

I would agree on what her dad said about her, she’s one tough cookie on the outside. Never admits defeat and all but inside she’s emotionally fragile. I can still remember the times she cried a lot due to some stress of relationships, in school or family. She would somehow stare blankly in space when a song she likes hit her. She loves to sing that I can remember.

She may not see this post but again Donna would be one of those interesting people I’ll never forget.

Top 10 Fictional Men I love to have a date this Vday

So the title said it all… even I have a little break to spare this entry… Been dying to post it though since I can’t quite know where to insert this but this month is perfect!

Have you ever wonder what would be like to date some of those fictional caharacters on tv? If the world of reality and fantasy collides one day and be stuck with ten awesome guys, I'll be sure its a day fulfilled! Hahaha anyways we all go trhough some phase and well kinda like to share this since the countdown to Vday is on...

10. Lex Luthor
I will have to suggest the younger Lex, the one who met with the high school Clark Kent. I am a sucker of the shaved head with a suit look. Plus the guy wasn't bad with Superman at first, just some ill fated woman who just broke those two men up. Yet again a night with this guy will be wonderful...

Micheal Rosenbaum as the young Lex, he's a perfect young version of him

9. Noah Puckerman
He maybe in high school but this guy knows his moves with a guitar and mic. Not a fan to bad boy image but his frankness to being Jew and his talent made me realize he's not a douche after all. A night with this guy would be interesting and fun!

Mark Salling gives Noah a fresh yet fierce face

8. Landon Carter
Honestly Shane West did a tremendous job on playing this role. You should never judge by the way they look, but this guy has a positive outlook in life. Instead of mopping around for a dead girl, he lives his life... Kinda touching so yeah having a date with him makes it not hard to like him on first impression.

Landon Carter from A Walk to Remember movie

7. Chuck Bass
The notorious man from the Upper East Side. He knows his ways to the ladies plus those first class dates. Sticking a night with him will be living in luxury then.

Ed Westwick as the dashing Chuck

6.Tsukasa Domyouji
Another luxurious man but with a heart. He is like this little boy who needs someone to talk to with sense. He may have riches but his heart is purer. There is something in Tsukasa that have drawn me to know him better but hey his fictional though.

Jun Matsumoto to me is the perfect Tsukasa

5. Ted Mosby
The architect who believes in true love. His hair is so scruffy though but his ways of words is not bad as well. Other stuff I find fascinating about this man is that he has good buddies to stick with him through thick and thin. And the endless opinions about life in general would be a perfect conversations booster.
the scruffy Ted played by Josh Radnor

4. Barney Stinson
He looks awesome in a suit! I have to agree his ways are incredibly ridiculous but when it comes to dealing with the heart, he quiets it down and his action speaks louder. Yes he may be a douche but again the suits speak for themselves hahahaha. A night with Barney would be awesome!

Neil Patrick Harris never fails to amuse me as Barney

3. Fitzwilliam Darcy
My classical version of the perfect gentleman. He may be arrogant and proud to see but he knows his mistakes and easily replaces them. A night with this guy may be interesting along with some horseback riding and fencing... :D

to me Mathew Macfadyen resembles Mr. Darcy more

2. Kang Hyun Su
At first, I wasn't that falling hard for him coz to me he was this nerd who can't stand for himself and a mama's boy. But the guy knows how to take care of a woman, knows how to stand i nhis own grounds, values family and is your nice guy next door. Plus kinda sweet too.

Jung Kyung Ho delivered Hyun Su in awesome style

1. Salvatore Brothers
Both are vampires with killer looks and smexy attitudes that even I can't choose between them! That Elena is sure one lucky girl. Stefan is a younger yet pure heart kind of guy while Damon is more of a guy with a reputation of danger but exciting. I don’t know it is a confusing state to pick which one though. A night with these guys would be a feast!

the infamous Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) Salvatore

All I care these guys are so good to be real. I dunno actually but still finding a guy with somehow similar trends would be nice. A real person is a winning part to all of this though.

The truth 'bout Santa

So after seeing Glee’s a Christmas episode, this got me thinking. How did you find out that Santa Clause doesn’t exist? Like every little girl that screams for joy, I too had experienced the thrill of receiving gifts under the tree. I don’t know how parents can pull this thing off but I did received some weird gifts before.

the jolly old st nick but its a cosplay by someone [image source]

Of course Santa was real. He was dubbed as St. Nicholas who was famous for giving presents to homeless children on Christmas. St. Nicholas was the original but the only truth is that he’s dead. Yet the spirit he practiced when he was alive still lingers on through the years. Kinda touching actually.

So how did I find out about the truth? Well it was when I was in 5th grade when the presents under the tree stopped coming. Years back, the usual thing I get were sweets. Lots and lots of them! It was more like the Halloween where every imported chocolates coming rushing in. I also remembered hanging socks onto the door knob since we Filipinos don’t uses fire places. My dad actually said that bout the socks thing and added the longer the socks, the more presents Santa will stuffed it in. boy I was really a goofy fool hahaha. Usually the socks were stuffed with coins, the old version of 1php and the weird shaped 2php back then. Yeah those long white socks were clean but kinda weird too.

When I found out bout this, I just laughed my ass about it. I mean my parents were kinda good in hiding and yeah I realized that as children gets older, those sweets aren’t awesome gifts anymore.it’s still kinda fun seeing little men going excited on Christmas mornings.

We should thank the big guy for being the most important role on Christmas. Santa Clause has bring all the goodness for the season. Together of course with the birth of Jesus Christ, Christmas is born too.

Confession of an Addict

Growing up watching animation on TV geared me up to be a little overacting when it comes to cosplaying. I know its not easy to cosplay and I am not a Cosplayer myself. I am however a fan of these shows that murdering such precious characters could send me literally to the land of annoyance.

Luckily the land of the Queen City of the South has recently been active on hosting events such as this. When I entered college such events barely exist and mostly parts of Manila were active then. It was late but then I am not too old to see such extraordinaire. I can still remember the first cosplay event i went to back in UP. Literally it was amazing, really good cosplayers back then. For now, usually high school kids are the ones being populated. I wonder what happen to those old ones, hmmmm...

Anyways since it's Halloween might as well share some fave cosplayers of mine worldwide. Some were really old though like I had them years hahaaha but anyways I like to credit these guys for a job well done!

One of greatest cosplayers I've seen so far. Hei from Darker than Black is one of my fave characters. When I first saw this, I was like seeing in reality. This person really pulled it off with the hair and pose.

Here is the person behind the mask. He was a She! hahahaha yeah, pretty good she pulled the character very nicely.

Who could forget Spike from Cowboy Bebop?! The muggy attitude who likes to chill all the time. What I like about this cosplay is that he really looks like Spike, complete with hair and that cigarette pose of his.

Card Captor Sakura has been part of my younger self ever since. Those Clow Cards and Keroberus never failed to amuse me before. So far, this is my fave cosplay of Sakura Kinomoto. Some were pretty mature too look at. I find this one younger since Sakura is still a child after all.

Just found this recently when my brother was looking for Ichigo's bankai sword. His hair my be too unnatural to look at but yeah still he is in my list.

Renji from Bleach. I like his hair, his sword, his face tattoos. Nicely done but for me Rukia belongs to Ichigo hahahaha.

This guy really creeps me out on the series. Gin reminds me of Soujiro Seta sometimes due to his eye expressions. One sneaky little guy. I'm not sure if this is a male cosplayer coz he/she has female like features.

Undertaker from Kuroshitsuji is one weird character. This guy made an excellent choice in a Halloween costume since Undertaker likes death a lot. His/Her smile is exactly like that from the original.

Not a fan though of Toradora but I had seen some episodes of this anime. The cosplayer really reminds of Tiaga though, except for the nose but still nice on the cat stuff toy.

One of the great anime I enjoy watching. Stein and Medusa could make a nice couple but Medusa is such a bitch hahahaha. Anyways I like this picture a lot both of them really look like the original ones. Love Medusa's nails and every bit on the costume, Stein is also being himself which is great!

I always love this Pain cosplay. He really looks like one complete with the hair, nails and expression. Who ever you are you surely did a fine cosplay indeed.

This is the only Gaara cosplay which is so much like on the original. The female cosplayer must have got the perfect head shape and skin tone to pull this costume off.

A natural looking Sakura. I find her putting not to much, effortless on portraying and pretty too. What else, for me she did a job well done on the cosplay.

When I saw this one, I was like waaaaah he really looks like Choji! hahahaha! Seriously the guy really looks like him! I thank him for that...

I never like Sai both from manga and anime but this guy really had the perfect body type for this cosplay. The hair may be a little long but i give a thumbs up on the paleness skin and really skinny body hahaha.

Neon Genesis Evangelion would be the first anime that got me thinking. Rei is one of the characters and here the cosplayer looks like one. I'm not sure though of other angles of her but this angle is nice!
An amazing Zorro from One Piece! If only I could see the face more that way I could tell completely. Anyway I don't know his hair color if its blue but this picture screams of Zorro a lot!

I love Mio from K-On. At least the cosplayer is bringing a real bass unlike some which were made. I don't get it why though but I like this version of Mio a lot.

Just found this pic like weeks ago. The only Muugen I would say that looks great! If my memory serves me correctly this guy is a Puerto Rican or some sort cosplayed in an event there. His stance and hair looks really like the original though. If only there were other pictures of him where I could see his face.

I love this version of Lacus Clyne. Her hair fits perfectly with her skin color. I think its amazing actually.

I really love Hunter x Hunter but now I am completely lazy to read the manga which is still ongoing. This Kuroro cosplay is wack! First saw this years ago, there was a Kurapica pic too but seems I can't find it. Anyways the tuxedo and the hair aren't bad. He really looks like the original.

She is a beautiful Kotarou from Gintama. Her expression suits her well just like the anime. Plus I love her umbrella as well. Nicely done indeed.

Lastly, Rei from High School of the Dead. I seriously love this series. Kinda brave of her to do a panty shoot for this but yeah it is so like the orogonal one! The zombie isn't bad as well.

So there you have it, some of my fave cosplayers worldwide. I know it's not easy to pull off a character, you got to have the essentials I guess to look like exactly the original.

A band called HALE

I was in junior high when I first heard the song Broken Sonnet played on the local radio. I thought it was some international artist who sounds like Coldplay or Radiohead. You got that right. It was a local band actually of four members playing like poets. I got hooked right away after that but never the less the life of being fan to this band has to end so soon.

HALE in early years (L-R) Champ, Roll, Omnie and Sheldon

Clearly there were no reasons being stated why the sudden break up. Their record label, PolyEast record, stated about the group’s break up. Money issues? I don’t know for sure. One thing is clear that their frontman Champ Luio Po is going solo and is to start an acting career. He’s currently recording though as stated some of his tweets. As for the other guys, no word from them but they have no intentions also to go solo or make songs as a new group.

One thing I hate is that the decision is kinda sudden. No definite explanation and even the moderators to their official sites is missing as well. Its like they just decided to shut down, which made it somehow creepy. I don’t make assumptions but their indefinite reasons to disband got me assume to stuff that aren’t pretty. Its selfish but at least they should give their fans a one last gig for all of them, not a video.

As a fan it pains me just to let these guys fall apart. The songs they make plus the new friends I met during gigs were fun. Know there are just distant memories. Seriously this group is the first I ever joined in. Being able to dedicate some time just to see them perform or just being with friends who you can share a lots of memories too. Really have a great time with them.

HALE with new drummer Pau

One would be first time meeting them during Sinulog 2006. I was a sophomore college and met some Cebu Halers as well. It was a screw up at first since the gig was at Ayala plus the streets were packed with people, no vehicles available since the roads were close and that I have to walk a very long way with heels on since my flats were destroyed earlier. The walking part was the pain but getting there was awesome. The entrance was a killer but the show was worth it since few people were there. We had a chance to get up close and personal with the guys

Another would be in Ormoc. Sad part was that we had no camera on that day and it was totally unexpected. My bro, cousin and I headed backstage after they perform, it was my idea actually. So we risked it and it was mighty fine indeed. They were there, few people too and my cousin bagged a free pizza form them. Good times!

One thing i am thankful for these guys are the people I met with. There are some really nice people I met through online. Yes I went through the eyeball phase so what the hell. Anyways, i personally joined some groups also that connects through texting it was unique at the same time. Fun in ways you could actually receive news about the band and gig information. Lastly, it’s a nice way also meeting new people that have common interests. Yes a lot of girls I here say. There were downs as well like having an imposer turning once clan into a disaster or though fights and stuffs like that. One thing I admire these clans are that they still together for one in supporting the band.

First single and MV: Broken Sonnet

Last MV: Magkaibang Mundo

When the band is gone, I dunno I guess these fans, make it we fans will still be waiting for their encore…

Sports player or Music player

After the NBA season, the world heads up to FIFA. Sports being in the scene of arts since the ancient times, have emerged into different forms for man to enjoy with. How ‘bout music then? Who could ever forget music, which is another form of arts for leisure.

Every man needs his entertainment, as well for the women. Seriously ladies, good looks plus talent are really a combo package. Not only that we get to see our favorite artists doing their stuff on stage, but being able to know they are that good! Pft no words can describe exactly except the feeling of fireworks on our stomachs… the life of a fan.

Brandon Boyd (Incubus) and Takeshi Yasutoko (XGames Champion)

It’s a post for the women since I am a girl myself. The screaming part may be not a good idea but I admit on the dreaming and watching them an eyeful! Personally I have a huge database of crushes on the music scene but which players are good? Do you prefer the pumping up adrenaline type of talented guys or the one who could soothe your souls away kinda of players? You decide!

Note: this will be my girliest post ever since I’m trying to squeeze every girly cell inside of me that way I could elaborate it more lively hahahaha

Round 1: Talent

You gotta have the exceptional skills to be noticed by the female arena. So our men should have this, not only that he knows how to play but doing it effortlessly good! Technically some does have the hots first, but I prefer them with exceptional talent. Both parties have excellent areas in exposing these guys. Although sporty types have a wider need in physical skills than those on the music scene. With all the training to perfect that unique factor, sportsmen sure do spend almost half of their lifetime doing it.

Brendon Urie (Panic! At the Disco) and Paul Gasol (NBA LA Lakers)

No matter which way you prefer, the female instinct can never be wrong on spotting the ideal guy and thanking God that human being such as him existed.

Well I say sorry for the guys who are *coughs* plainly normal. We love spices in our lives!

Round 2: Stages of Performance

The stage is his element, a vital piece to his so called show. Its where these men portray the stuff they love doing. It could be anything to anywhere as long as he is free to do whatever he wants to. Musicians have a more flexible field; they could even use the street pavements as their tool. They tend to use every space possible just to deliver a song or show off some guitar slides or drum rolls.

Athletes have different set of stages, depends on what sports they play. Although some sports have alterations to where to play like those in skateboards and basketball, some are harder to pull like swimming and racing. Overall these guys can put a great show… making ladies scream for more.

Round 3: Rising Ability

The mode of spreading a guy’s awesome talents (plus looks) has got to do on how and where he is usually exposed. The media can be very helpful to a rising star’s potential to showcase to the world. Saying it’s a way of global domination!

Alex Turner (Artic Monkeys) and Gonzalo Higuain (FIFA Argentina)

I gotta say that the musicians have the advantage since everyday they got to have gigs, radio shows or mall shows to attend to. Plus everywhere they go, fans of screaming girls are always there! They can be persistent to like being drag down to the airport, just don’t underestimate the powers of a battalion of girls.

As for the sporty type, they can chill quite a lot. Still they are being stormed by some paparazzi or fans whenever they do groceries, eating in restaurants or other stuff like that. They have less media exposure unlike the musician type but they still do some cover shoots in magazines or tv programs interviews.

Round 4: Mode of Payment

Every artist needs to have his assets in best condition. So those paychecks and bank accounts are always on the way up, for some at least. Payments are a way of the compensation they get from just being talented. Mind you its kinda hard being able to maintain such stamina, condition and grace in performing. I know they are rich but they do deserve it since they bring people entertainment.

The athletes have the advantage in this one. From practicing to the actual game, these athletes know best on how to keep those accounts full. From contract signing to sponsor deals, you just have to trust your skills on this plus the playing part is all that matters.

Jared Leto (30 Seconds to Mars) and Tayshaun Prince (NBA Detriot Pistons)

For musicians, they need to come up with new materials or nice tracks to keep their labels up. There are tons of talented musicians not included on the mainstream area. Personally to me having record labels are great, but your actions are kinda limited since you have to do what the label are saying. As for the indie artists, it may be hard to earn but the music they deliver is really their own. Seasonal is what I call it plus you must be wise also to survive the music scene.

Round 5: Fan Communication

What is the most important thing for a fan is having her favorite athlete or musician respond to her. It’s proof that somehow they actually know you exist in this world and receiving a thank you from them personally is heaven. Anyways, without the fans, I guess these artists won’t be making it to entertainment but will forever be considered talented on his own little ways. Talent should be showcase not hidden.

This got to be hard for the artists to actually respond every single fan. It’s just that some fans way go overboard and that can be labeled as stalking or annoying. Communication is key. If the artist is exposed to the fans more, he can send his messages to them gradually. Usually the musicians have the advantage to this for promos like after party meetings, VIP guest lists or back stage passes. Either ways, musicians tend to hang with his fans more than the athletes. Sure some athletes do respond, their time is dedicated more in training.

Winner:

Personally I have already said my preferences during the first few paragraphs. I prefer musicians more than athletes though, i have huge weakness to a man who knows how to play a guitar. Not a fan of sweat though. I watch a lot of sports but my heart belongs to music.
